The South Asian community won the right to vote in British Columbia on April 2, 1947. The Dr. Hari Sharma Foundation will commemorate this historic day by organizing an event on Saturday April 6, 2024, and honouring Sadhu Binning, Community Activist and Punjabi Author; Am Johal, Director, Simon Fraser University's Vancity Office of Community Engagement; Harsha Walia, Community Activist; and South Asian Network for Secularism and Democracy (SANSAD).

Music by Indo-Jazz Fusion Artist and Vancouver Jazz Festival Favourite, Shruti Ramani and Pianist Noah Franche-Nolan.

Full dinner and wine for $45. Students and unemployed $30.  The event will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday April 6, 2024, at the Ultimate Banquet Hall, 200 8072 120 Street, Surrey, BC.
